Andrew Wadhams - Principal

Andrew is an accomplished consumer products executive whose programs and results have proven sustainable and repeatable across retail, educational, and healthcare formats. His goal—and passion—is to deliver on brand promises by aligning cross-functional teams to drive revenue and create extraordinary customer experiences. His customer-first lens has established a track record for driving growth and exceeding profitability goals. Some highlights:

California Closets. Tasked with creating a “Company Owned” division, Andrew led his team to assess, acquire, and integrate over 30 franchisees; collaborate to define best practices; create a training curriculum; (re)design performance-based comp plans; (re)direct annual marketing spend across 5 channels; and design an award-winning showroom format. He led two 100k sq ft manufacturing plants, and by the end of the second year manufacturing had doubled production capacity while reducing operating expenses by 25%. During his time at CC Owned, the team tripled their volume while growing average EBITDA by 700 basis points. Best in Class at CC NPS scores inspired Harvard Business School to publish a study on California Closets: “Organizing the Customer Experience.”

Gap Inc. Andrew spent 11 years in the Gap organization and is proud to have begun his career there as a store manager. Ultimately he became Zone VP - Gap Brand and was responsible for 800 locations generating $1.4B in sales. During his tenure he consistently drove best-in-class results, opened Gap’s first 60 stores in Canada, helped rebrand Banana Republic, and led both the Gap “RED” campaign, and “Project Blueprint.” The latter right-sized store management teams and reduced $42M in annual labor costs.

Private Equity. Andrew has led operations for 3 private equity-backed retail concepts and created successful exits for each. Educational toy store Imaginarium was sold to Toys “R” Us; eco-conscious outdoor living company Smith & Hawken was sold to The Scotts Miracle-Gro company; and Big Dog Sportswear/The Walking Co filed a successful IPO in 1999.
